The reality for many US utilities today is an intricate dance: aging infrastructure meets a tidal wave of new distributed energy resources – solar, batteries, electric vehicles. Keeping the grid stable and affordable under these conditions isn't just hard; it's a constant, high-stakes operational puzzle. We’re seeing more and more US operators realize that existing tools just aren't sufficient for this new complexity.
This operational gap is exactly where Senpilot has found its footing, and it is why our growth in the US market has accelerated. Over the past 12 months, our platform has moved from pilot projects to core operational systems for several significant US utilities, ranging from major investor-owned utilities in the Northeast to large cooperative groups in the South. These aren't just contracts; they're deep engagements where we're helping teams manage real-time grid conditions, optimize DER dispatch, and improve forecasting accuracy, directly impacting their bottom line and reliability metrics.
Collaborating Face-to-Face
A few major utility customers are in the Northeast, and flying in for every meeting was becoming unsustainable. Having a physical space allows us to sit down with them more often, grab coffee, and have the kinds of conversations that don't happen as naturally over Zoom.

Key Roles for Our US Expansion
We’re looking for smart, driven individuals who want to work on meaningful problems – people who understand the gravity of ensuring a reliable, clean energy future. Here are some of the critical roles we’re adding.
Senior Engineers: We need senior engineers with expertise in distributed systems, large-scale data pipelines, and grid-specific protocols. People who can help us extend our platform's capabilities, integrate with a broader array of utility operational technology (OT) systems, and build features tailored to US market requirements, like FERC filings or specific ISO/RTO interactions. This isn't just about writing code; it's about solving complex engineering problems that directly impact grid stability and performance.
Utility Success Managers: Our Utility Success Managers aren't just account managers. They are trusted advisors. They need a deep understanding of utility operations – how a control room functions, the nuances of resource planning, and the challenges of grid modernization. Their job is to ensure our utility partners get maximum value from Senpilot, translate their operational goals into platform use cases, and help them evolve their strategies. This is a hands-on role, often working directly with operational teams.
Sales: Our sales team members in the US need to be more than just quota-chasers. They must understand the technical and regulatory intricacies of the US utility market. They'll be engaging with VPs of Grid Operations and Directors of Renewables Integration, articulating how Senpilot delivers measurable financial and operational benefits, and navigating complex utility procurement cycles. It's consultative selling, focused on problem-solving rather than just pitching software.
Product Manager: The US market's specific needs require focused product leadership. We're looking for a Product Manager who can dive deep into regional regulations, market structures, and specific utility pain points. They will be responsible for defining new features and capabilities that resonate directly with US customers, ensuring our product roadmap aligns with both technical innovation and immediate market demands.
Our momentum in the US is real, built on concrete results for our utility partners. And frankly, the challenges facing the US grid aren't getting any simpler. So, as we grow, we're looking for individuals who thrive on solving hard problems, who see the massive opportunity in modernizing the grid, and who want to be part of a team making a tangible difference to how energy is managed across the country. We’re building for impact, not just growth numbers.
